The Lodge, formally known as Beryl Jarvis School of Theatre Dance, offers the full spectrum of dance classes and performing art qualifications to enable students to gain entry to colleges of further education. We welcome you on a journey with us that we hope will be a long and enjoyable one. We are entering a partnership between parent and school in order to nurture and bring out the best in each child.

Focusing on Personal Development

It is the school's ethos to provide a very high quality of teaching throughout all dance disciplines. We take a great deal of interest in each and every child and student's personal development and it is our aim to provide a caring and happy atmosphere in which the students can achieve their full potential.

The Foundations for a Future in Dance

Initially, every child enrols within the school because they wish to learn and have fun. Some students however wish to take their studies more seriously with a view to having a career within the dance industry whether it is within the media, dance, theatre or eventually the teaching profession. We provide for all of these needs.

Fully Qualified Dance Teachers

All our members of staff have a sound knowledge of anatomy and physiology in order to teach the children; when dealing with muscles and bones this is a must as injuries can easily occur with the wrong teaching. All staff are fully qualified members of the 'Royal Academy of Teachers of Dance' and the 'Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance'.
